Of course, you both have to have iPhones with the Doodle Buddy app installed and running. For instance, you can paint with a friend who is on the same Wi-Fi network. On the other hand, the iPhone contains some features you won’t find on the iPad. But it’s still fun to use, and it has a few features Doodle Buddy on the iPad lacks. (A $1 premium version of Doodle Buddy-not reviewed here-offers more stamps and backgrounds and appears without ads.)ĭrawn to You: On the iPhone, Doodle Buddy is missing the glitter brush and rainbow color picker found in the iPad version. There is also no support for multi-touch painting. You can get Doodle Bucks by downloading certain games-some free, some paid. The iPhone version doesn’t come preloaded with as many backgrounds or stamps to choose from either. First of all, you don’t get the glitter brush or the rainbow color picker you just choose from a select number of color swatches. The iPhone version of Doodle Buddy functions the same, with a few key differences. I had this happen once when I bumped the iPad after drawing for ten minutes. Unfortunately, there’s no way to undo this action, so if you accidentally erase your whole drawing you’re just out of luck. You can clear the entire drawing by tapping the trash can icon or by shaking the device. Once you’ve finished drawing, you can share your creation via e-mail. The app offers an undo button for any mistakes you might make as well as a folder icon you tap to save your drawing to your device’s photo library. However, when I tried to do that on the iPad, my photo usually loaded upside down. You can also use one of your own images from your device’s photo library. You can choose to paint over one of the preloaded templates like tic tac toe or hangman as well as a few photographs. There’s no option to turn the sound effects off, so I found myself turning my iPad’s volume all the way down. Each brush also has its own sound effect as you paint, but they just get really annoying after a while. The stamps can be large or small and each one has an amusing sound effect whenever you use it.

Stamps range from smileys, hearts and animals to a guitar, skull and disco ball. You also have plenty of stamps to use in your doodle.
